RDA Illawarra Shoalhaven exists to represent an extraordinarily layered constituency: three tiers of government, hundreds of businesses, and community organisations across the Illawarra, Shoalhaven and Jervis Bay Territory.
Speaking to all of them in one coherent voice is no small task. Its brand hadn't caught up to that responsibility. An outdated website and no consistent identity meant even the name needed explaining before the real conversation could start.
We began with genuine listening: workshops and consultation with a diverse board of regional leaders, a full brand audit, and a look at how every other RDA chapter in the country had approached the same challenge.
The goal was never a new logo. It was a foundation RDAIS could actually stand on.
What emerged was a positioning built on connection, and a messaging system flexible enough to speak to government, industry and community without losing coherence between them. It gave RDAIS's own team real structure internally, and gave the organisation a consistent way to explain its role to everyone with a stake in the region's growth. An acknowledgement of Dharawal and Yuin peoples was built into the foundation from day one.
A full visual refresh followed: a rebuilt website with a live State of the Workforce dashboard, and a collateral suite built to carry the identity everywhere it needed to show up. The result is a brand that finally explains itself, and everyone it represents, without confusion.
